food friday: corn muffin is ♡

it's the time of the month when i'm erratically moody and unreasonably emotional :( seriously this is one of those biological processes i wish i don't have to go through. the cramps are painful (thank God for buscopan venus!) and i have to endure them every freakin (sorry for the language) time.

but despite this very uncomfortable thing i have to go through, i'm lucky to have a boyfriend who is extra understanding and who gives me special treats to help ease the 'yayay and sapot' away.

today he bought me a box of corn muffins from kenny rogers! yeyyy! these muffins taste so good. it's a healthy alternative to cupcakes although it looks a lil less pretty than the latter :D

gotta love muffins!

jp continues to be the sweetest guy that he is and he never fails to put a smile on my grouchy face even if it means staying awake half the day (jp works at night so he has to sleep in the morning). i love you babylove! kiss** HAPPY FRIDAY LOVES!

the best salads in cebu

i have never been so fascinated with salads. i could not appreciate eating veggies raw and because most salad sauces have vinegar or mayo which are two of my not-so-favorite ingredients in the world. yeah, i know i'm weird hahaha!

so why am i posting about salads again? hmm aww yeah, i will share the best salads you can ever find in cebu. this is for those who are not as fascinated with salads like me or for those with very preference tastes to food.

the mexican salad at cafe george

the mexican salad consists of corn, cucumber, taco chips, lettuce, some other veggies which are chopped finely that i could not identify (haha), and the killer-- a special tomato salsa! when jp first introduced this salad i was like, "this doesn't taste like a salad to me" for the first 5 visits i had to cafe george, i did not order anything but this. this is about 220-240 php per plate but this is for sharing because one could not definitely finish one serving. (that's unless you are Über hungry or have not eaten for a year! lol)

so you caught me there! i said earlier that i'm not fond of vinegar but this one at salad at postrio is different! but first let me tell you that this salad consists of the usual lettuce, egg, crispy chicken, tomatoes, and i know you're waiting for the killer!! yes the killer ingredients are-- the oh-so-yummy cheese and the vinaigrette. i'm not so sure what kind of cheese strips they use on this one but it's nothing but soft and a lil salty and a lil sweet too. it compliments well with the vinaigrette which seemed to have no trace of vinegar (promise!). this one's a lil pricey too. for 200php i can finish the whole serving myself. in short, this isn't for sharing ✌

happy birthday anty da!

there is only one reason why today calls for a celebration, it is my auntie dada's birthday. she is 'rose' to some of her friends, 'ate da' to her siblings but ever since i was a kid she will always be my auntie dada! 

i am a lot like her. i'm loud (yeah she is, trust me), i'm friendly, i'm fun to be with and i think i got from her my sense of humor (hahaha). but more than that, if there is something i'm proudest which i got from my auntie-- it is being in love with life and being very proud in celebrating it everyday. my auntie is always positive and happy.

so to my auntie da..

today you are teensy bit older but wiser. i wish i could tell you exactly how lucky i am to have you as my auntie and friend. i wish you better and happier years ahead..

in celebration to your birthday, i went to buy you some cupcakes (refer to picture below). but since you will not be able to get them i also had the honor of eating them all by myself. haha! yes i have to sacrifice some calories for you! lol

on a serious note, when i woke up today i whisper a special prayer to the Big Guy Up There to keep you and guide you. i prayed that He will give you your heart's desire because you deserve the happiest birthday more than anyone else (:

lantaw floating restaurant

if there is one day of the week that me and jp both look forward to, it's sunday. we always make sure that we wake up early to catch the sunrise and/or be enthralled with the beautiful sunset. last sunday, we planned on catching up a new movie since we have not been able to check out the motion picture but when we went to ayala the line was horribly long and i just don't feel like watching so i ask him if we could just spend the afternoon somewhere.

just a few minutes after leaving the packed mall, jp's cousin michelle called up and asked if we can hangout so we picked her up and she decided to guide us to lantaw floating restaurant. she has been to the restaurant 3 times before that afternoon's escapade so she memorized the route pretty well.

well for starters, lantaw is located in at cordova which is a 30-45 min drive from the city. it is advisable to call in first for reservations since the place is almost always packed. if there are no more reservations left and you planned to have a sunset dinner then you have to be there around 5-5:30 in the afternoon.

our timing was just perfect. although we dint get to reserve, we arrived at around 5 so there were still vacant tables inside. it was hot and humid around that time of the day but after a few minutes when the sun is almost to set, the place just transforms beautifully. i may not be able to post really nice pictures because all the nice photos are in jp's iphone but lemme just share some which i got from my email.

in terms of food, the grilled bangus is definitely a must try. there's a different twist in flavor compared to the usual bangus we can order at hukad or stk. their halo-halo was also yummy. sadly, it's not always available because of the not so ordinary sorbet that they use. we were able to try it because michelle kinda 'bullied' the manager in charge and told her that she has gone there 4 times already so she has to have it this time. hahaha
