thoughts @24

no big fuss, just a quiet celebration of life and what it is to me for 24 years. happy birthday to me and to everyone else i'm sharing this day with. i'm sharing to you 5 big lessons i learned which made me who i am and what i am today..

1. Always listen to you parents.
-they know a lot more about life than you can possibly know. parent-daughter/son disagreements, misgivings, and misunderstandings are part of who we are. we all have our fair share of talk backs and drama episodes with our parents but at the end of the day family will be the ones who will stand up for you no matter what.

2. Be contented but dream big.
-there is a fine distinction between contentment and mediocrity. whatever it is that you always wanted to be and wanted to have, don't stop holding on to that dream. eventually, the universe, in its mysteries and all will conspire and give you what your heart desires. do not be down-hearted and give attention to those distractors, they will always be there. take criticisms smoothly and positively, they will build up self-confidence and self-worth.

3. Choose your friends and choose wisely.
-the world can be so cruel but you can stand it no matter what if you have a friend to lessen the cruelty and burden that it tries to throw to you. friends, if they are the right kind are the best source of laughter, positivity and energy. never take them for granted.

4. Trust God and always hope for the better.
-i am a living proof that God has always wanted you to be the best that you are. trusting Him more than ever made life decisions worthwhile and easier to make. yes, God is too wise to be mistaken, too good to be unkind, so every time we don't see His hand guiding us, we just have to trust His heart. better and greater things are what we are made of.

5. Love and forgive. Easier said than done but it can be done.
-we all have our share of people who hurt us and betrayed us. i for one did not live a life full of smiles and happiness only. whoever they are and whatever they did to us, forgiveness is the best that we can offer both to ourselves and to our aggressor. it will not be easy because these people were the persons we trusted and loved so much but believe me, life is lighter and happier if we put hate aside and love like we never knew hurt.

i know there will still be a lot more adventures ahead of me but i'm positive that everything will be okay because i have a God who never turned me down (not ever) and people who will always show me that life is a wonderful journey.

my logos experience

(From Wikipedia)
MV Logos Hope [2] is operated by the German charitable Christian organisation GBA Ships e.V. As the fourth ship operated by the organisation, she follows in the line of MV Logos, the wrecked hulk of which now sits on a rock shelf on the Chilean coast, MV Logos II which was retired in the fall of 2008 and which Logos Hope was designed to replace, and MV Doulos which was sold to a Singaporean interest in 2009.
Twice as big as any previous ship operated by the organisation, the ship was completely refitted over a period of 5 years. Logos Hope provides a better quality of life for crew as well as a wider range of activities for visitors and guests. The newly created Logos Hope Experience (which is situated on a deck that was installed into the original ferry’s car area) holds up to 800 visitors at any time, with capacity to host an additional 700 in the Hope Theatre and Logos Lounge. This publicly accessible deck offers visitors an introduction to the vessel and the organisation, a book fair featuring around 7,000 different titles, a visual presentation called the Journey of Life and the International Cafe. The introduction to the vessel omits the Christian proselytizing mission of the ship, though this mission is not concealed throughout the bookshop which features many Christian books, religious posters and music.
The all volunteer crew and staff of 400 people, represent around 50 different countries. Unlike the crew during her original use as a car ferry, crew and staff normally join the organisation to live on board for two years.

i had been looking at their billboard near the TESDA overpass for quite a while already and budged jp once to go with me. i was able to take a tour with the old mv doulos once when it docked in bacolod and i was excited with this new boat. finally one hot tuesday, jp and i went to the central post office to claim my pack from oz and germany and luckily mv logos is docked just at the back of the office! lucky me!

blueberry is my flavor, what's yours?

this blueberry cheesecake is one of the best i tasted here in cebu! it's a lil bit pricey but when you get lucky, you  can just savor the yumminess for free (((: thank you jp! you can order this yummy treat at 10th dove street and check out more mouth-watering flavors available!
