eane and jas

happiness is being with a high school friend who understands your craziness no matter what. last saturday, i was with eleane catching up while jp is working on some office stuff (:

“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.”

a father's love

a father plays so many roles in one's life. he is a teacher, a friend, a provider, a protecter, a friend, and a dad. i'm not the kind who writes very emotional things about my father Andy because presently i really don't talk to him that often. yes, he is presently in africa and God knows what's he up to there. i mean the last time he talked to me was december 2011.

despite that, i love my dad because for the most important period of my life, my growing up and character forming years, HE WAS THERE. he showed me what compassion is when he forgave me the day he caught me drinking alcohol for the first time. (yeah and then decided to have me transfer to cpac). dad taught me patience when for the nth time, i could not precisely park a car. i value family because to him, it was always a priority. he demonstrated leadership, when he brings home plaques from the office where he worked before. he clearly defined love when i was the sick-est, and he wakes up every single moan of pain, rush to my bedside and prayed earnestly, begging God to let the yayay go away. thanks pop for every little thing you taught me. i love you!

happy father's day papa ♡

and then there is one person whom i consider my 'father-friend' (i got the term from his own son who calls his cousins, cousin-friends). he is my ankoy minic. he is a dad to matt and a soon-to-be-dad to another matt (yeyyy). he played the role which my father wasn't able to do. he was both a friend and dad to me, the coolest at that. i first learned from him was ped-xing was. he explained why roads are not meant to be straight. he drank with me. he talks about how girls should act in front of boys. he defined cheap girls vs high-end girls. he makes me love dogs. he outrightly said that i better be street-smart because life isn't based on books. he calls me heartoi and he welcomes me into their home (together with anty of course) anytime. thank you ankoy for being the coolest uncle, dad, and friend that you are!

heartoi and ankoy
so here's one song which i first learned from my ankoy. this is talks about how a father's love is powerful. hope you guys enjoy!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL AMAZING DADS OUT THERE! X

goodbye summer!

i finally had the courage to say goodbye to summer ☀..

i will definitely wait for your next return. warm days and sunny blue skies are over. i'm at the balcony listening to some random playlist and scanning my photos for my best summer ever. nostalgic. may the cloudy days and rainy nights be an inspiration to dream those dreams. and make a pact with yourself that when summer is back, those dreams will already be real ♡

thank you to all the people who we consider our summer, our warm cup of tea, and our favorite dose of sunshine-- who makes the cold and rainy season bearable! thank you jp boy!

because life is a beach and we love it!

summer 2012 is very special to me not because, it's hotter and more fun (that's a given) compared to any other summers in my life but because i gotta spend it with my long lost beach soulmate-- jp! if there is one thing that i truly treasure in my relationship right now, it's being able to do things that i love so much with the person who enjoys it as much as i do. yes, we are the ultimate beach junkies and it would be a shame not to say goodbye in a luxurious way to our favorite season in the world-- summer. so get ready, whoops wait for it--- say hello to shangri la mactan! this is actually our 3rd and final shang experience for the summer. (photo vomit comin up)

these first set of photos are all taken at the beach front.

of all the beaches that i visited here in cebu, nothing could really beat shangri la mactan. as what jp has told me, the fine sand they have here was actually hoarded from bohol. they really did a good job in maintaining their beach front and of course, the beach itself.

if you have friends and relatives who want to visit cebu for the summer, shang is the place to be. watch out for the next post, you will surely fall in love with this place.

summer is almost almost over but i'm so glad i was able to spend it the best way possible. what was your summer like?

thoughts @24

no big fuss, just a quiet celebration of life and what it is to me for 24 years. happy birthday to me and to everyone else i'm sharing this day with. i'm sharing to you 5 big lessons i learned which made me who i am and what i am today..

1. Always listen to you parents.
-they know a lot more about life than you can possibly know. parent-daughter/son disagreements, misgivings, and misunderstandings are part of who we are. we all have our fair share of talk backs and drama episodes with our parents but at the end of the day family will be the ones who will stand up for you no matter what.

2. Be contented but dream big.
-there is a fine distinction between contentment and mediocrity. whatever it is that you always wanted to be and wanted to have, don't stop holding on to that dream. eventually, the universe, in its mysteries and all will conspire and give you what your heart desires. do not be down-hearted and give attention to those distractors, they will always be there. take criticisms smoothly and positively, they will build up self-confidence and self-worth.

3. Choose your friends and choose wisely.
-the world can be so cruel but you can stand it no matter what if you have a friend to lessen the cruelty and burden that it tries to throw to you. friends, if they are the right kind are the best source of laughter, positivity and energy. never take them for granted.

4. Trust God and always hope for the better.
-i am a living proof that God has always wanted you to be the best that you are. trusting Him more than ever made life decisions worthwhile and easier to make. yes, God is too wise to be mistaken, too good to be unkind, so every time we don't see His hand guiding us, we just have to trust His heart. better and greater things are what we are made of.

5. Love and forgive. Easier said than done but it can be done.
-we all have our share of people who hurt us and betrayed us. i for one did not live a life full of smiles and happiness only. whoever they are and whatever they did to us, forgiveness is the best that we can offer both to ourselves and to our aggressor. it will not be easy because these people were the persons we trusted and loved so much but believe me, life is lighter and happier if we put hate aside and love like we never knew hurt.

i know there will still be a lot more adventures ahead of me but i'm positive that everything will be okay because i have a God who never turned me down (not ever) and people who will always show me that life is a wonderful journey.

here is a sneak peak of my birthday (:
